In 2024, is it really still worth investing in a gaming PC that costs at least around 10,000 reais to run all the latest games?
Well, okay, sometimes a gaming PC is a decorative object in your home. With that water cooling that shows .gif images, an NZXT case that’s very minimalist and has RGB, that cutting-edge graphics card, the famous 4090 that costs almost 20,000 reais… okay.

But have you ever stopped to think about the costs of cloud gaming? A GeForce Now subscription starts at just over 50 reais per month. With that, you can necessarily run all the latest games, because you have an RTX 4080 at your disposal. You can even play from that old PC of yours from 2020. If your computer doesn’t freeze while you’re watching a YouTube video, then you won’t have any problems with GeForce Now.
For comparison, I’ve been playing super hardware-gourmet games and they run just fine on a 2020 PC with 4 GB of RAM and an onboard graphics card.
Not to mention I no longer have that worry about the graphics card burning out or overheating. That’s the upside of the cloud and honestly I like it a lot.
I think the future of gaming is the cloud itself. There’s no way around it.
